The Chickadee by Brevard Tiny Homes.

I've always had a secret, wild desire to own a tiny home, but this has sent that desire into overdrive. A proper kitchen with full-size appliances! Coo. I just can't stop looking at it.

This was me all weekend. Duck = Chickadee

It's not often I see something and think, "UGH! WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT??" This is one of those times. A monthly art supply subscription – nothing you can't get in other places and obviously targeted at hobbyists. Instead of going to your nearest Blick, this company just picks some supplies and sends them to you for a monthly fee. So smart.

New Airplane Design with Detachable Cabin for Safely Landing in Emergencies | Infinite Legroom

Whoa. Mind blown.

Fashioned by Ukrainian aviation engineer Tatarenko Vladimir Nikolaevich, the new plane features a detachable cabin that ejects during emergencies, then uses specialized parachutes to softly saunter down to the earth’s surface with shock absorbent pads that keep the landing smooth on ground and allow the cabin to float on water. Even your luggage will be unharmed, as it’ll be stored in the same detachable cabin, under the floor of the passengers.

Google's New Project Is So Insanely Advanced It Will Blow You Away.

We live in a very exciting time in terms of human-computer interaction. Gestural functionality is not new, but seeing it in practice is amazing. Thinking about the implications of it on security, music, art, communication... it's absolutely mind boggling. If you have a few minutes, watch the video. It's amazing.

This chip is actually a miniature gesture radar that captures even the most complex hand movements at close range, at unbelievably hyper speeds and replicates hand gestures. Given the micro size of the chip, it can almost be fitted into literally anything. This technology, if the project is successful, can make the need to touch a device to operate it redundant.
Super sensitive radar technology.

Mast Humidifier.

Lovely.

This elegant and eco-friendly humidifier was created by Shin Okada and crafted by Masuya Koubou out of pure Hinoki (Japanese Cypress). Hinoki is known for its high-quality timber, rot-resistant qualities and lemony sent. The thinly-sliced Hinoki mast absorbs water from the hull and diffuses it and its intrinsic aroma into the room.

HiddenRadio & Bluetooth Speaker.

I am absolutely drooling over this product's simple design. Talk about user friendly. WANT.

The HiddenRadio & Bluetooth Speaker is based off minimal, timeless design and user intuition. When asleep it hides all its functions, being silent and unanimated. To turn it on you simply twist and lift the cap; the further you lift the cap the more internal volume is created and will amplify to over 80dB of crystal clear sound. This unique design connects and captivates the user through its intuitive functionality.

Tray Design Concept.

I'm not entirely sure I understand how this works, but it's really lovely. And I heart that the design hearkens back to an old school desk.

The simple personal computer contains a wireless keyboard, flash memory and a touchpad. A slot in the base allows for multiple screens and devices to be connected and synced together in an easy, understandable way. The base will have magnets embedded so that the wireless screen can be held tightly during transport. It also means that each screen can align itself neatly with any other devices connected. The designers say that their use of wood for the bases material "is a means of recognising out society's preference to use natural renewable resources when possible." Let's hope FUJITSU, or anyone else, make this!

Remembrance by Mitch Steinmetz.

Brilliant on an almost epic level.

The coffee table is the center of any living room: a place for conversation, gathering, and storage. The photo album preserves memories, giving life to past events and emotions. Remembrance combines the social interaction of family gatherings with the nostalgia and enjoyment of remembering the past. Instead of acting as a liaison between the user and their entertainment, Remembrance becomes the source of entertainment. It creates new memories while simultaneously cataloging and cherishing old ones.

Why the car company is named Toyota, not Toyoda.

Writing "Toyoda" in Japanese requires 10 brush strokes, explains John R. Malott, president of the Japan-America Society of Washington DC, but writing "Toyota" requires eight.

While "8" is considered an auspicious number, "10" is not, said Malott, who visited with the company during his years as a State Department official. "Ten" consists of two strokes crossed against each other and resembles the "plus" symbol, or even a crossroads or an uncertain path. Not a good omen for a company.

"It's a very Japanese way of thinking," Malott said.

Polaroid Flower Vase.

Only a prototype I'm afraid. But so cute. I hope someone picks it up.

We hang a polaroid with a small cord and a clothespin. arising from a desire of keeping the memories, I feel longing today.Nature is also what I want to keep for a long time.it is a plant in a polaroid. The illumination is for the plant, and the gentle curved shape will seem to be an image of a polaroid.

Permafrost - silence

Sadly, this doesn't actually seem to be for sale. But it's lovely.

The Silence rug is at first glance an impression of glistening white snow; a common sight in freezing Norway. Then you discover the tracks left by a passing hare; itself dressed in bright, shimmering winter fur.

Now this is a Harley I could ride.

Those of you that don't live here may not know that Milwaukee is the Harley Davidson headquarters. There's a new Harley museum opening next Saturday (I initially had the date wrong - sorry), and The L.A. Times just featured a nice piece about it. I found this picture in the photo gallery. It made me giggle.

Another exhibit is the oldest known Harley, the "Serial Number One," from the early 1900s when William S. Harley and Arthur Davidson first presented to the public the Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
