i love this piece, too, and couldn't believe it was PB. i haven't checked the price yet, but i'm sure it reflects PB as well...UGH.
i'm with the two of you - i don't get that it's PB from looking at it -- i actually did not think their audience admired this type of bold accessory.good for them!
