Mother-of-three Vivienne Vanderwait-Hudson took a wrong turning while on a ferry trip to Calais to buy booze. Becoming hopelessly confused and sporadically weeping she travelled by motorway across France to the Pyrenees, down the length of Spain's east coast and ended up in Gibraltar five days later after finally telling someone she was British and asking the best way home. Her partner then flew over to comfort her and drive her home. "I just kept on going, hoping there would be a gap on the road for me to turn around,' she explained.
