Possibly my new favorite term: "Spite House."

Houses built (most in ridiculously ways or places) to spite a neighbor, family member or local government.

A Nevada man bought the lot next door to one of his enemies and built his own house less than a foot from his neighbor's, blocking his neighbor's view and cutting off the ventilation on that side of the house.

This house is 7 feet wide, built in 1830 by the cranky owner of one of the buildings next door because he wanted to keep people from using the alley next to his house.
