Dyslexia by Daniel Britton.

A beautiful and effective way to create empathy – by removing 40% of each character, Britton reduces the reading time of a non-dyslexic to the speed of a dyslexic.
I wanted to make non-Dyslexic people understand what it is like to read with the condition and to recreate the frustration and embarrassment of reading everyday text, and then in turn to create a better understanding of the condition.

Vintage Typewriter Art.

Really fun.

Rathbone first started experimenting with this "type" of art when she was at her university. She purchased an old typewriter from a flea market with the hope that she would soon use it to write something. Time flew by before she decided to use it as a drawing tool because writing was not working out so well. Her first piece proved to be promising, and soon she realized that she could explore this new art form much further.

BETTER COFFEE FOR BETTER WORKERS.

When I get an email from my friend, Carina, that simply says "AWESOME SAUCE," I take heed. Carina, I agree.

1960s Olympia Typewriter.

She's a beauty.

TO RESOLVE project.

The project is finished, but the iPhone wallpapers are still available for download.

TO RESOLVE PROJECT is something that came about when I started talking new years resolutions with my girlfriend. You create a list, stuff it away in a drawer and it never sees the light of day till the year has passed. I decide to ask as many talented designers I know (or don't know) to create a resolution for the new year as an iPhone wallpaper. It's the one thing I do look at every day. This way you not only get a daily reminder, but you get a very stylish daily reminder at that.

Legacy of Letters video.

I have to agree with my pal, @vonherwig: I kinda wish there was a Typography Channel, and they showed stuff like this all day.

The Hello Wall.

If I were to write a crime novel, I would SO use this as a plot device to help my fleeing protagonists communicate.

Wasted Spaces commissioned London-based artist duo Hellicar & Lewis to develop The Hello Wall.

The installation went live this Monday, March 8th. It uses Twitter to let the public interact with the huge wall projection on Wembley High Road.

Until Sunday March 14th, you can get interact with this live artwork by Tweeting commands to @thehellowall. You can use shapes (triangles, squares, circles), commands (more, less, shake) or just say hello@thehellowall.

The Hello Wall.

Looks like they're looking for another space for it now. Wish we could afford to bring it over here to shine on our office building...

Finding a Cover for 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.'

Spending a lot of time in airports, on the street and in coffee shops in the last few weeks, I've seen this book A LOT lately. (I'm on the second book now.) The cover design is so iconic – and the series is so good – it actually lifts your heart a little to see other people reading it.

I also love that the design had enough room to become a brand for the series. I've been in/seen plenty of conversations sparked by people recognizing the design. So HUGE props to Peter Mendelsund, the designer, for a success few people ever experience.

(Be sure to follow the link in the article to see the alternate designs.)

Smith Corona Portable USB Typewriter.

This is a Smith Corona Portable typewriter that has been modified with custom electronics to work as a standard USB keyboard.

The typewriter itself is in good condition, all keys work smoothly although there is one stuck key (the @ key). Also, the key registration is off (lines of text don't appear crooked on the page.) The ink is fresh and it does work as a regular typewriter in addition to being a USB keyboard.
