Mast Humidifier.
Lovely.
This elegant and eco-friendly humidifier was created by Shin Okada and crafted by Masuya Koubou out of pure Hinoki (Japanese Cypress). Hinoki is known for its high-quality timber, rot-resistant qualities and lemony sent. The thinly-sliced Hinoki mast absorbs water from the hull and diffuses it and its intrinsic aroma into the room.

Cheap DIY clip frames.
Do you (like I do) have a closet full of prints and artwork that've been there for ages because you can't bite the spendy bullet to get it framed?
You might want to check out DIY Picture Framing – they have good ol' glass clip frames on the cheap. I finally got around to framing a few 18x24 prints that I've had for ages (like the Public School print, above, and this Skinny Ships print). Two frames = $36 with shipping.
I feel so much better.

Chick-a-Dee Smoke Detector.
Seriously cute.
The Chick-a-Dee smoke detector was selected as the winning design in a design contest organized by the Union of Dutch Insurance Companies in the Netherlands in the fall of 2006. The design was selected out of 50 entries sent by industrial designers at universities all over the Netherlands because of its combined functionality and design.
The Chick-a-Dee takes its name and appearance from the American Black-capped Chickadee (Poecile atricapilla). This name is a tribute to its warning call, the phonetic Chickadee sound. At the smallest threat, the bird calls chick-a-dee-dee, and in more serious circumstances, the call becomes a loud dee-dee-dee sound. As soon as smoke is detected a 85 db alarm signal is activated. Under normal conditions, a control light flashes once a minute. The Chick-a-Dee can be tested by pressing the test button.
