Eat Breakfast.

Yes, pizza IS a completely acceptable breakfast.

"East Breakfast" is an offset lithograph poster designed by Always With Honor for Advice to Sink in Slowly. Advice to Sink in Slowly is an ongoing series of posters designed by college graduates for the purpose of passing on advice and inspiration to incoming students. A free advice poster is available on request to first year students across the UK.

The printing, packaging and postage costs are covered through the sale of fund raising posters such as this one. All proceeds from the sale of these releases goes towards distributing free posters to students throughout the autumn semester. Put simply, the more that sell, the more posters they can give out for free.

Narrow House in Horinouchi, Japan.

I never tire of seeing how people can create beautiful homes in the most unlikely spots. Design is cool.

Happy Birthday Box.

So cute.

Question: What birthday present do you get someone when you only have $10? You get them a Happy Birthday Box, of course. Might be perfect for an impromptu celebration (for a forgotten coworker’s bday perhaps?) or for sending to a friend long distance. There’s just room enough for a tiny heartfelt note on the side.

Lytro light field camera.

I'm drooling. I want one.

Lytro lets you take pictures like never before. Unlike a conventional camera that captures a single plane of light, the Lytro camera captures the entire light field, which is all the light traveling in every direction in every point in space.

Check out a sample image here. Just click on different parts of the photo to re-focus. So cool.

Knit a Sweater, Help a Penguin in Need.

AAAUGH. How cute is this?? If I could knit, I'd be making a penguin sweater tonight.

A recent oil spill on New Zealand’s coast has left the environment and wildlife in shambles — including the local blue penguin population. While volunteers are working hard to rescue and clean the animals in the region, they require a little bit of crafty help: tiny sweaters, or penguin pajamas, for the rescued birds. These woolen sweaters keep oil-soaked birds warm until they’re well enough to be cleaned and prevent them from ingesting oil from their feathers.

Bizarre short film imagines Paris abandoned and flooded for mysterious reasons.

I LOVED the opening scenes of 28 Days Later, so I'm mesmerized by this.

Ecriture Infinie - The Project

Bili Bidjocka interview from Ecriture Infinie on Vimeo.

Eight giant-sized books.

Ecriture Infinie is an art project by Bili Bidjocka: eight giant-sized books made of blank, silent pages. Occasionally one of the books makes its appearance around the world. A large writing desk, a lamp, a pen. One by one, people may approach the pages and leave their mark. They are invited to write as if it were the last time they could write by hand. The focus is not so much on the words, but on the gesture, the flow of the pen on paper, recorded on video. When each book is completed, it is sealed, wrapped, and hidden in a secret place, as in a time capsule. Will the people who will find the books in thousands of years be able to decipher it?
