Tribeca Collection Single-Bulb Pendant
I'm a little in love with this little industrial pendant lamp.
The Michael McHale Designs Tribeca Single-Bulb Pendant is a unique jewel of eccentric, modern lighting made in NYC. The "industrial-chic" pendant chandelier also has a warm and charismatic feel to it. Depending on its setting, it can hang from any perch or can also be hung in groups, perhaps at different elevations, for a more interesting lighting scheme.

Radiator retrofit cover controls heat & cuts emissions.
I don't live in a place with radiators anymore, but, man – if I did, I'd keep my eye on this product from Radiator Labs. It's still in development, but, if it works, it could be a godsend for a lot of people battling major temperature swings.
Those living in older steam-heated buildings will know how inefficient the systems are, experiencing cold temperatures when the boiler is off and unbearably heat when it is on. Considering some apartment complexes have just one boiler controlling the whole system, that’s a lot of people having to put up with temperature swings. The Radiator Labs solution is an insulated cover that can be placed over the typical steam-heated radiator, which stops heat from immediately filling the room. A sensor fitted to the cover acts as a thermostat – when it detects that the room is too cold, the trapped heat is released via a fan located on the side of the cover. According to Marshall Cox, who created the device while studying for a PhD at Columbia University, the system would help reduce carbon emissions from steam-based radiators and save money for owners if implemented.

Paul Octavious' bird prints are back.
I fell in love with these when I was staying at Longman & Eagle last December. (Paul Octavious' work is all over the restaurant & hotel.) So lovely.

Old people wearing vegetation.
I honestly have no idea what the impetus was behind this photography collection by Riittai Konen and Karoline Hjorth. It's so bizarre, I can't help liking it. (After doing a little research, I realized a lot of their work has a playful edge to it.)
p.s. They have a one-night only exhibit in Brooklyn tonight.

Michael Valenti cycling prints.
I wish I could properly show you how beautiful these prints are. (We've got them hanging around our studio right now because we're having a show.) They're big and bright and beautiful and printed on a heavy paper stock with a texture that's almost like watercolor paper. They're 24"x36" and, for $100 each, they're an amazing deal. (Smaller sizes also available.)

Super Mamika is back! (This time with a chicken named Bob.)
I posted about Mamika's superhero photos back in 2010. And I'll post about her again now because she's awesome and fabulous.
Three years ago, photographer Sacha Goldberger became an internet sensation with his photos of his then 91-year old grandmother "Mamika" dressed as a superhero. Now Mamika is back, traveling the world with her friend, Bob the chicken.

Cinderella's Boxing tank.
I have no idea why I dig this tank tee from Arquebus so much, but I really do. (Maybe because it has old time-y graphics and looks like something Starbuck might wear.)

Perhaps mixtapes aren't dead after all.
Analog fun in a digital age. (And kudos to them for beautifully simple website navigation.)
Sharetapes "are physical cards that contain NFC (Near Field Communication) chips and QR codes so they can play mix-tapes on smartphones and tablets."
Using your existing platforms like Spotify, YouTube, 8tracks and more, you can create personalised playlists which will then be saved onto your very own Sharetape(s) by hitting record at sharetapes.com. Share tapes with friends who can simply tap with NFC (if they have a recent Android, Windows or Blackberry device), or scan the sharetape using any QR code reader app (on all Smartphones, including iPhones).
