I highly recommend the American Visionary Art Museum in Federal Hill - It's one of my favourite museums in all the world. http://www.avam.org/

A few publications:
http://www.urbanitebaltimore.com/index.cfm
http://www.baltimoremagazine.net/

Have fun!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5268703.post-91053505237780643732007-04-17T15:46:00.000-05:002007-04-17T15:46:00.000-05:00I live just outside DC. I second the Georgetown suggestion with Cady's Alley being a primary focus; specifically Ann Sacks & Waterworks for a visual treat even if you are not shopping for tile. Also, try Paper source (paper-source.com) for some fun and Martson Luce on Wisconsin Ave. The DC design center used to be good, but I have not been there in years. Used to love Country Swedish, Niermann Weeks, Baker, Knapp & Tubbs and Holly Hunt showrooms. Don't know from what city you are coming, and or if you have access to a merchandise mart near you. (merchandisemart.com/dcdesigncenter)The Spring design house is now open to for view. check out the web site. Too bad the Cherry blossoms are past peak. Enjoy the visit! Walk along connecticut avenue in dupont circle for some cool stores ( such as tabletop, further up near the hilton a cool japanese home store ). Walk around Georgetown in nice weather for some beautiful houses and hidden antique stores. Up wisconsin about 6 blocks from M street is where the cool antique stores start. Cady's Alley in Georgetown ( 32 & M ) is where all the design stores are along M and on the alley behind.ArchitectDesign™https://www.blogger.com/profile/01481754380363676771noreply@blogger.com
